Seed Production Specialist Pepper/Eggplant

The Global Supply Chain Planning Protected Culture is responsible for the realization of the optimal availability of (pre)commercial seed for the Protected Culture, based on quantitative and qualitative requirements from our Sales organization. The supply team is responsible for the planning of productions on various production locations world wide, the upgrading and testing of those seeds and the timely allocation for the sales units. A supply team is made up of a Master Scheduler, Inventory planner, Seed Production Specialist lead by the Manager of the Supply Team.

Main Purpose of the Job:
In this function as Seed Production Specialist you are primarily responsible for the placement of the seed productions of pepper and eggplant seed with home farms and third parties within the framework set by the Supply Team and Global Manufacturing Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• You are an agronomic sparring partner for the Production Sites, Suppliers, Breeders and the other Supply Team members
• You assign and maintain the greenhouse production capacity of the home farms for pepper/eggplant
• Monitoring and reporting on field inspections of local production management is an important part of you role.
• Visit the productions as they are ongoing to gain insight in their performance and discuss best practices with the production sites and suppliers
• Administrative maintenance of productions in SAP and supporting systems
• You do analysis of productions and production data to continuously ensure progress and initiate improvements in quality, reliability and lead-times.
• Active participation in the various networks for your crop in the global organization such as Production Research and Production Strategy

• Education:
  BSc. in Horticulture or Agronomics
• Work experience:
  Preferably 2-3 years experience in greenhouse vegetable (seed) production, user experience with ERP systems (SAP) as well as Microsoft Office
• Knowledge:
  General knowledge about greenhouse (vegetable) production
• Languages:
  Good working knowledge of the English language
• Competencies:
  Strong communicative, intercultural skills, analytical, enthusiasm and willingness to travel several times a year (20-30% of your time)
