QA field pathologist

This position offers you practical work as well as the opportunity to bring this department to a higher level. Your main tasks are process improvement of field inspections, train other departments in detecting diseases and doing field inspections.

This position is responsible for leading and managing all assigned aspects related to Quality Assurance Seed Health within Production for the EMEA region including supporting, auditing and training of production people& phytosanitairy officers both OF and PC. Execute inspections and audits of production sites and production fields globally. Promotes and assures involvement in cross-functional disciplines with in Quality Assurance Vegetable division of Monsanto such as Inventory Management, Operations, Production, Customer Service, Marketing and Sales. Participate in Company goal to reach $1B in Sales by 2014 and EMEA Sales revenue meet $395 M in FY11 and $625 M FY14.

· GSPP/CSP owns and leads continuous improvement activities like production & diagnostic protocols.
to the highest standard in the seed industry. Represents MonVeg within GSPP tech. & Int. WG.
· Support Production people in a dynamic environment to meet business and customer expectations.
· Training and promotion - assure (cross-) departmental training related to all aspects related to Seed Health quality in production and promotes (cross-) departmental activities and accomplishments.
· Quality Management Systems - assure documentation, auditing and improvement systems related to ISO, GSPP and other accreditation requirements are met.
· Corrective action. Cross-functionally participates and supports corrective action processes.
OF/PC cross-bridge between both production systems.

• Bachelors's (B.Sc) or Master's (M.Sc.) degree with 5+ years experience in (seed-)pathology, quality assurance, auditing. Good knowledge of GSPP, growing practices and phytopathology/diagnostics.
• Excellent human relation skills, effective oral and written communication skills required. Demonstrated supervisory abilities are critical.
• Excellent communications and training skills including the capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications (multilingual in local language/English)
• The ability to communicate with different reporting levels in multi-national and cultural organization as an individual or a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced global and multi-cultural vegetable seed company.
• Decision making and problem solving skills. Capability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues.
• Challenging the status quo to improve production processes.
• PC proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Power Point) and ability to demonstrate computer skills in SAP.
