Manager Seed Production Crucifers

The employer is an international organisation, active in research, processing, marketing and sales of vegetable seeds. Due to the retirement of the current manager they seek an Manager Seed Production. The main objective of this position is to manage world-wide seed production for a group of crops, from small quantities of pre-commercial and stock seed productions to commercial/mass scale seed productions. You will be part of the operational team of productspecialists. Next to that you'll coach two productspecialists and coordinate the stategy (based on your analyses of the figures) of the Crucifers group to bring it to a higher level.

This position reports to the Business Unit Production Manager.

Fulltime (40 hrs).

• Manage a team of production specialists
• Monitor and asses the critical stages in the production chain
• Contribute in preparation of the production program (together with Sales, Planning & Logistics and other departments)
• Consolidate, analyse and interpret data, and act on the results
• Facilitate seasonal evaluation meetings, with internal and external parties

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Agronomy, Biology or Life Sciences.
• At least 4 years of experience in growing horticultural crops, farm management and/or seed production of horticulture, agriculture or floriculture.
• Experienced in managing a team of professionals is an advantage.
• Knowledge of, and experience with MS Office, ERP systems (preferably JDE-OneWorld and/or Oracle) and BI systems.
• Excellent knowledge of the English language, preferable also of the Dutch language or willing to learn dutch.
• Knowledge of the French language is an advantage.
  
• You are passionate about horiticulture and willing to share your enthousiasm and knowledge with a team of two people.
