Creative Scientist Seed technology and Plant physiology

Created almost 150 years ago in California, this company has grown to become the world’s largest independent seed technology company and today operates across 3 continents. For their new to open Horticulture research facility in the Enkhuizen region they are looking for two SEED TECHNOLOGY SCIENTISTS who are creative and practical orientated and able to work together with seed breeding companies.

The Seed Technology Specialist is fulltime (38 hours).

The tasks of the R&D department are to do research to improve current seed treatments and to develop innovative new products. All treatments are meant to support the genetics/ seeds and where needed to improve the behaviour to reach the best possible performance. Maximise nature’s potential.
They do research in many areas hereunder upgrading, priming, disinfection, film coating, pelleting, chemical and organic seed treatments, drying, micro nutrients, beneficials and growth stimulators. Research is done in USA, UK and the Netherlands.

As a Seed Technology Specialist you will:

• Design and execute research projects, lab, field and greenhouse included.
• Collect data, data analysis, and data/ result interpretation.
• Reporting , oral and in writing and present results.
• Exchange new/ improved technologies and processes towards production and manage the implementation
• External contacts with customers, partners, universities and institutes.

There are several positions available for junior/medior candidates as well as experienced Seed Technology Specialists (0-10 years).

• Bsc, MSc in seed physiology, seed technology, plant science or related fields.
• Candidates with knowledge of/ experience with chemistry and/ or material science have a pre
• Preferable experience with seed technology and/ or seed treatments.
• Creativity and initiative are important character qualities for this position.
• Fluent in English, orally as in writing is mandatory seen the international playing field.
• Dutch speaking or willing to learn Dutch on short term.
