Assistant Breeder Cucumber

Fulltime (38 hours)

You will assist the Breeder Cucumber long in setting up and excecuting the Breeding program. Under the supervision of the breeder you will be responsible for:

• The preparation, set up and selection of the breeding trials.
• Evaluating screenings and analyzing the research results.
• Administration of the research and screening data.
• Supervising seed handling.

• Bachelor or Master Science in plant breeding or genetics
• Working knowledge of / interested in horticultural practices and procedures, genetics and plant breeding
• Working knowledge of /intereseted in application of molecular marker technology and phytopathology
• Functional competencies: strong organizer,flexible thinking, cooperative, patience, positive mindset, works independently, accurate and strong personality.
• Communication skills
• Good and open communicator (in English).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Computer skills: management information systems, databases, spread sheets
• Willingness to travel
