This company is a privately held global provider of preclinical research tools and services that enable innovative and efficient discovery and development research in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical, industrial, chemical and food industries.
In this position you will become a member of a salesteam of 3 people in Germany and report to the Sales Manager (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). In this position you also will have contact with the European Sales and Marketing Director and departments such as Customer Services, Production and Distribution and Technical Staff.
As an Accountant Executive, you will have the opportunity to call regularly on customers in the life science sector (universities, farmaceutical companies and research institutes) and support the promotional effort behind our products and services. You will maintain a current and competent level of knowledge on the product and service lines, to be a reliable source of information to our customers in the territory.
The key responsibilities for this position are:
- Identify and influence the Decision Making Unit (DMU) within the customer organization – in many cases this being several people.
- Create and execute an effective call plan.
- Utilize reporting tools provided to achieve territorial goals and targets.
- Communicate and collaborate with your line manager on goals and targets.
- Work with the customers to close the opportunity.
- Build business relationships with assigned customers.
- Develop and present cost/benefit, economic argument or total cost of purchasing Harlan products and services.
- Position Harlan products and services by presenting the features, benefits and advantages by comparing the strengths and weaknesses against competitive offerings.
- Utilize your customer focused selling skills in your presentations, and keeping post call notes to assist with pre-call planning.
- Prospect, identify and develop business opportunities with new and competitive accounts and evaluate the sales potential of existing customers.
- Selling a portfolio of products and services which ensures strong emphasis on prioritization and effective time management.
This is an important and influential role within this life science company, and therefore requires the expertise and experience of a sales professional whose credentials closely match the following parameters:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience.
- Bachelor or master's degree required.
- Life sciences and or experience of working in a scientific environment are desirable.
- Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- An articulate and persuasive sales professional who is able to communicate effectively internally and externally.
